Rule #1
Start counting calories!

Your success will depend on using a daily nutrition log. It is part of the process. You cannot buy a house without planning a budget unless you can calculate a mortgage in your head. Not! Think of this as just an exercise in portion awareness. It does not mean you have to count for the rest of your life! Set one of your goals to track nutrition for 4 weeks or 12 weeks. After tracking and calculating what you actually put in your body as opposed to what you think you put in your body for 12 weeks, you will be amazed, flabbergasted, and humbled. Chances are you will never want to do this tedious process again but you probably won't have to either. Your awareness of portion sizes, nutrient intake, and macro balancing will increase, you will skillfully know how much is enough and come to trust your intuition. This log is the first thing your nutritionist will ask for. It provides a baseline to work from.
