Helpful Hints

  1. Avoid skipping meals.
  2. Eat slowly and savour the taste. Put down the fork between bites, and chew completely before swallowing. Pause in the middle of your meal.
  3. Do your grocery shopping after a meal, and only buy what is on your list.
  4. Drink water before, after, and between meals. (Minimum 1.5 litres or 8 glasses a day).
  5. Choose lean cuts of meat and remove any visible fat. Use the least amount of oil possible when cooking.
  6. Eat fresh fruit. Choose fruit in its own juice if you eat canned fruit.
  7. Exercise Regularly
  • Always keep well hydrated during exercise
  • Layer clothing so not to overheat
  • Always warm up before stretching
  • Never stretch to warm up (muscles are cold)
  • After vigorous exercise is the best time to consume carbs and protein. Your body will absorb 2-3 times more because of depleted muscles.
